The Digital Department (DNum)

Presentation

The Digital Department (DNUM) is a shared service of the Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France (UPHF) and the INSA Hauts-de-France (INSA HdF) (Article 45 of the INSA statutes, and Article 28 of the UPHF statutes), which contributes to the definition of the strategy for information systems and digital development and educational innovation for the university.
 

Within the Digital and Pedagogical Innovation cluster, the Digital Department participates in defining the institution's digital and pedagogical innovation strategy.

The Digital Department's mission is to organize and develop these 2 areas within UPHF and INSA HdF in line with institutional strategies. It also reports on user needs and ensures the security of the UPHF Information System.

Missions

As such, the Digital Department structures its activity around 9 missions:
  • Advice and expertise in Information System and digital development, to the governance, users, business departments and components of the university
  • The implementation of the management information system (development, addition of functionalities, integration and operational monitoring of business applications)
  • The study and development of IT (digital services, business applications, multimedia applications, websites (components, laboratories, conferences))
  • The deployment and management of the computer park and technical infrastructure (workstations and nomadic means, servers, networks, databases, telephony, audiovisual and multimedia equipment, computer rooms)
  • The implementation of digital simulation infrastructure
  • User support and assistance by local digital teams (hardware and software equipment, troubleshooting)
  • The training and support of users in digital tools, business applications deployed in the institution and the uses of digital in distance and face-to-face teaching in conjunction with the University Pedagogy Service
  • The development of digital pedagogy projects: hybridization, Mooc, serious games...
  • Audiovisual and multimedia production for teaching, research and institutional communication

Organization

The Digital Department is divided into 2 sub-departments:

  • a Sub-Department Information System (SDSI)
  • a Sub-Department of Digital and Educational Innovation (SDUNIP)
