University Pedagogy Service (SUP)

The Service Universitaire de Pédagogie (SUP) Persae'Val was created in 2016 and is part of the network of SUP.

The service has been supported by competency-based approach pedagogy project manager Vanessa Marescot since 2016. As part of ongoing teacher training, it offers in-house reflexive workshops and reflexive days hosting researchers working on university pedagogy.

SUP mission statement

The department was able to welcome:

  • Denis Berthiaume (2016): Teaching and learning at the heart of the university mission (Inauguration of the service)
  • Christelle Lison (2017): Evaluation of learning
  • Marcel Lebrun (2018): Flipped classes: fad or opportunity?
  • Christelle Lison (2020): L'Approche par compétences pour redonner du sens aux apprentissages and Et si je pouvait valoriser ma pédagogie autant que ma recherche

Persae'Val works closely with the DNum on pedagogy-related projects.
Since 2018, it has been in charge of training aimed at deepening the pedagogical skills of trainee lecturers (Order of 8 February 2018).

Focus on the " MCU stagiaires" scheme

The aim of this program is to help new teachers adopt a reflective approach to their teaching practices.

The program is organized into 3 phases:

  1. A collective and individual welcome for trainees,
  2. Workshops to be attended, and a reflective essay to be written. The workshops cover a wide range of topics related to university teaching, in a variety of formats (face-to-face, distance learning, hybrid). The training program includes workshops to be chosen from the catalog of workshops and training courses, and a compulsory distance learning course. It is completed by reflective exchange sessions.
  3. An assessment, during which the trainee's progress over the course of the year is reviewed in individual interviews.
